Crossed Genres Flash Fiction Contest

jolantru, I discovered tonight that Crossed Genres is in the midst of voting for their flash fiction competition. Being a fan of "fantasy and science fiction with a twist," I couldn't help immediately kicking back and checking out the ten finalists.
I'm more than glad I did: there are a couple of emotional and several amusing pieces here. I hope you'll go and discover them for yourself! And, as I don't want to affect your voting, I'll put my commentary on several of the stories behind a cut.
