Buffy: The Chain

Before I go to bed, I just have to say that Buffy #5 (in the Buffy comics that serve as Season 8), "The Chain," is one of the most brilliant comic books I have read in a long, long time. I will talk about it at length when I re-read it and am not longing for bed. However, allow me to say that it was touching and cunningly created to juxtapose a series of important themes. Joss nearly provoked tears in 22 paneled, colored pages: he definitely invoked a yawning depth of sensibility that I'm still exploring.
